Protest Erupts in Violence, Official Injured

A protest by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on Tolstoy Marg in New Delhi turned violent on July 23, 2026, resulting in Assistant Police Commissioner (ACP) Vivek Bhagat sustaining serious injuries. He was admitted to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital after suffering head and body injuries from stone-pelting by miscreants.

The incident occurred as police forces attempted to control the demonstrators. A group of protesters breached barricades and tried to advance, leading to a police response. The miscreants then began pelting stones and throwing glass bottles at the police personnel.

Security Tightened, Search for Miscreants Underway

Doctors at RML Hospital have reported that ACP Vivek Bhagat's condition is currently stable, and he is under close medical observation. In light of this incident, security arrangements in the capital have been further strengthened.
