Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey: A Journey Begins Trailer Released, Matt Damon Stars as Odysseus

Oscar-winning filmmaker Christopher Nolan has unveiled the trailer for his highly anticipated adaptation of Homer’s classic epic, The Odyssey: A Journey Begins, featuring Matt Damon as Odysseus, the King of Ithaca. The film is set to release in theaters on 17 July 2026.

Described as “a film shot entirely with IMAX cameras,” the trailer showcases Odysseus’s perilous and legendary voyage home after the Trojan War, highlighting both the grandeur and danger of his epic journey.

The ensemble cast includes a stellar lineup of actors: Tom Holland, Mia Goth, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie, Jon Bernthal, and John Leguizamo, promising a dynamic and star-studded retelling of the ancient Greek tale.

The Odyssey marks Matt Damon’s fourth collaboration with Nolan, following The Departed (2006), Interstellar (2014), and Nolan’s Academy Award-winning Oppenheimer (2023).
