Chinese state media reported that the drills involved live-fire exercises between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. local time (00:00–10:00 GMT) across five maritime and airspace zones. Activities included air and naval patrols, simulated precision strikes, and anti-submarine operations.

Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense confirmed that some of the live-fire operations occurred within waters Taipei considers territorial, including areas within 12 nautical miles (22 km) of its coast.
