Chhatarpur Municipality Celebrates 80th Independence Day with Grandeur

Dignified Flag Hoisting Ceremony

The 80th Independence Day flag hoisting ceremony was held with immense dignity at the Chhatarpur Municipality premises on August 15, 2026. Municipal President Mrs. Jyoti Chaurasia, as the chief guest, hoisted the national flag and took the salute. The event saw participation from public representatives, social activists, municipal employees, and a large number of citizens.

Following the flag hoisting, all attendees joined in singing the national anthem. Tributes of flowers were offered to images of Bharat Mata and Mahatma Gandhi, and the national song was sung. Guests were honored with the presentation of a Tulsi sapling.

Municipal President Emphasizes Development and Cleanliness

On this occasion, Municipal President Mrs. Jyoti Surendra Chaurasia extended heartfelt Independence Day greetings to the city residents. She highlighted the municipality's continuous efforts towards the development of Chhatarpur city.

Mrs. Chaurasia stated that active public participation is crucial in building a clean, beautiful, and organized city. She appealed to all residents to maintain cleanliness, beautify the city, and cooperate in development works.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of notable figures including MLA Lalita Yadav, District Panchayat President Vidya Agnihotri, State Vice President Nandita Pathak, District President Chandrabhan Gautam, former MLA Jujharsingh, Surendra Chaurasia, Vice President of the Municipality Vikendra Vajpeyi, senior leaders Jairam Chaturvedi, Arvind Tripathi, Arvind Bundela, councillors from all wards, Aldermen councillors, social workers, public representatives, and a large number of city residents.
