'Zero Waste Birthday' Initiative Launched in Chhatarpur

Inspired by the spirit of the Swachh Bharat Mission, Nitesh Chaurasia of Chhatarpur celebrated his son Krishav's first birthday with a unique 'Zero Waste Birthday' initiative. The event, held at Hotel Ratan Palace, aimed to highlight the importance of cleanliness, waste segregation, and environmental protection.

The celebration completely shunned disposable materials such as plates, glasses, spoons, and bowls made from single-use plastic. Instead, eco-friendly alternatives were utilized, setting a precedent for future events. This initiative was not just a personal celebration but also served as a carrier of a social message.

Awareness stalls and selfie points themed around 'Zero Waste Events' were also set up at the venue. These installations served to educate attendees about cleanliness and the significance of waste segregation. The initiative aimed to convey the message 'Adopt Cleanliness – Save the Environment, Adopt Zero Waste' to the masses.

Call for Wider Adoption of Zero Waste Events

Speaking on the occasion, Nitesh Chaurasia expressed his views, stating that if birthdays, weddings, and other social events were organized on a 'Zero Waste' theme, the amount of waste could be significantly reduced. This would not only contribute to environmental protection but also play a crucial role in building a cleaner city.

He appealed to all citizens to strive to celebrate their family and social events as 'Zero Waste Events' to move towards a sustainable future. He emphasized that adopting a 'Zero Waste' approach can significantly reduce waste generation in social gatherings, contributing to a cleaner environment.

Present on this special occasion were Jyoti Surendra Chaurasia, Chairperson of the Chhatarpur Municipal Council, Madhuri Sharma, Chief Municipal Officer, and other officials and staff of the municipality. All of them highly praised Nitesh Chaurasia's innovative 'Zero Waste Birthday' initiative.
