Tense By-Election Results Announced in Kasba Madhi

The results for the Sarpanch post in Kasba Madhi Gram Panchayat, under Aron Janpad in Guna district, were declared on Saturday, October 4, 2026. Chandan Singh Ahirwar emerged victorious, defeating his closest rival by a margin of 192 votes.

Peaceful Counting Process Underway

The counting process, which began on Saturday morning under the guidance of SDM Aron Manjusha Khatri, was completed peacefully. A total of six candidates vied for the Sarpanch position.

Ahirwar Secures Majority with 732 Votes

Following the counting of 1385 votes cast across three polling stations, Chandan Singh Ahirwar received the highest number of votes, 732, and was declared the winner. This marks a significant moment as it's the first time Kasba Madhi Panchayat has used Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) for Sarpanch elections, with polling held on September 29.

High Voter Turnout Recorded

Villagers participated enthusiastically, registering a 71.17 percent voter turnout for the election. The Election Commission had made stringent security arrangements at the counting venue to ensure order.

New Sarpanch Receives Certificate of Victory

After the official announcement of the results, Returning Officer Dhirendra Gupta handed over the certificate of victory to the newly elected Sarpanch, Chandan Singh Ahirwar. Assistant Returning Officer Krishnakant Chaube, Executive Magistrate Amit Jain, and Janpad CEO Gaurav Yadav were also present. Ahirwar's supporters erupted in celebration upon hearing the news of his win, giving him a warm welcome.
