Administration Ramps Up 'Josh' Program for TB Elimination
The administration in Guna district has intensified its action plan under the 'Josh' program to achieve the ambitious goal of making the district free from tuberculosis (TB). The program was launched on Thursday in New Delhi as part of the Central TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, with a live broadcast shown at a ceremony held in the district's Shubhvidayi Garden.
During the event, discussions were held on the importance of TB prevention, timely treatment, and nutritious diet. The primary objective of this 'Josh' program is to actively engage the youth in the direction of TB eradication.
Youth Engagement and Monitoring Framework
According to the plan, the first phase will involve the registration of various government officials on a mobile app. Following this, Class-I officers will form teams of subordinate volunteers. These teams will continuously monitor the current status of TB patients as well as the progress of various tasks undertaken by the department, ensuring regular reporting.
District-Wide TB Eradication and Patient Support
District Collector Kishore Kumar Kanyal clarified the campaign's priority, stating that the administration's paramount goal is to free all 421 Gram Panchayats in the district from TB infection. He emphasized that not only medicines but also the consumption of nutritious food is extremely essential for the treatment of TB patients. Keeping this in mind, food baskets are being arranged for the patients.
The District Collector also stressed the need for proper care of patients' families to effectively prevent the spread of infection. He appealed to the residents of the district not to panic upon seeing any TB symptoms but to contact a doctor immediately and in a timely manner. He informed that the disease can be completely overcome with timely diagnosis and treatment.
Recognition and Renewed Commitment
At the conclusion of the program, Sarpanches and Secretaries of Gram Panchayats where not a single TB patient was registered were honored with certificates of appreciation for their excellent performance. Many dignitaries were present on this important occasion, including District President Dharmendra Sikarwar, Municipal Vice-President Dharam Soni, and Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr. Rajkumar Rishishwar. Together, they reiterated their resolve to make Guna completely TB-free.
