Calf Rescued After Falling into Drain

Farrukhabad was gripped by panic when a calf fell into a deep drain near the Panchayat Ghar in Khanpur on September 10, 2026. A local resident, Krishnadeep Sharma, spotted the calf, initiating immediate rescue efforts.

Upon receiving information, animal welfare activists Anuj Rathore, Naitik Kashyap, and Nikhil Kashyap arrived at the scene. With the help of local residents, the activists faced a tough challenge to pull the calf out of the drain.

Veterinary Care and Demands for Cow Shelter

After the calf was safely rescued, a veterinarian was immediately called due to its critical condition. The vet provided primary treatment and arranged for the calf's care.

Following the incident, the animal welfare activists raised questions about the administration's efficiency, stating that veterinarians often arrive late when called by ordinary citizens. They argued that assistance is only provided after repeated pleas, indicating indifference towards the protection of livestock.

Fatemgarh BJP Nagar Media In-charge Rahul Rathore has taken this incident seriously and has strongly urged the district administration to establish a permanent and well-managed cow shelter in the Fathegarh area. He stated that a dedicated cow shelter would ensure timely and proper treatment and safe shelter for abandoned and injured cattle. Rathore warned that if a cow shelter is not constructed soon, a strong protest will be organized.

Local residents have also supported the animal welfare activists' demand and have urged the administration to take immediate concrete steps in this direction. They believe that a cow shelter will not only be a boon for stray animals but will also help in preventing cruelty towards animals in the region.
