Blinkit Delivery Agent Arrested for Molesting Brazilian Model in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, October 28: The Bengaluru Police on Monday arrested a Blinkit delivery agent for allegedly molesting a Brazilian woman, who works as a model, at her residence in RT Nagar earlier this month.

The accused, identified as Kumar Rao Pawar, a resident of RT Nagar, is a college student pursuing his degree at a private institution in the city. He was working part-time as a delivery executive with the quick-commerce platform Blinkit.

According to the police, the incident occurred on October 17, while the arrest was made following a complaint filed by the woman’s employer on October 25.

In the complaint, the employer stated that the woman was staying with two other models in an apartment in RT Nagar. Around 3:20 p.m. on the day of the incident, one of the residents had ordered food through the Blinkit app. When the delivery agent arrived, the victim went to the door to collect the order.

The complaint alleges that Pawar behaved inappropriately and touched the woman in a sexual manner, outraging her modesty. Startled, she reportedly pushed him away, locked the door, and did not immediately share the incident with her flatmates.

Later, the woman and her roommates informed their employer, who reviewed CCTV footage from the apartment complex and confirmed the sequence of events before contacting the police.

Police have registered a case under Sections 75(1) and 76 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, which pertain to sexual harassment and assault on a woman’s modesty.

Officials said a detailed investigation is underway to verify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
