BKP College Students Honor Gurus on Teacher's Day

Students Express Gratitude to Teachers

Devri | September 5, 2026 - Students at Pandit Brijkishore Pateria Education College (BKP College) in Devri organized a dignified and grand event on the occasion of Teacher's Day, expressing their gratitude towards their gurus.

The college's director, Dr. Avnish Mishra, was the chief guest, extending his Teacher's Day wishes to the students. In his address, Dr. Mishra emphasized that teachers are not merely confined to imparting curriculum knowledge but are crucial guides who shape students' all-round personality and future.

He further highlighted the significance of the guru-shishya tradition.

Preserving Cultural Heritage and Values

Mrs. Pratibha Pandey, the officiating principal, congratulated students on Teacher's Day and underscored the invaluable guru-shishya tradition as a cornerstone of Indian culture. She stated that a student's discipline, moral values, and persistent eagerness to learn are the true measures of a teacher's efforts.

Lecturer Shivam Sharma recalled the deep-rooted, affectionate connection between BKP Education College and Teacher's Day. He noted that the institution has been honoring teachers from the region for the past 18 years, a tradition disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic but kept alive by the students today, signifying the institution's rich heritage and values.

The Evolving Role of a Teacher

Shivam Sharma shared his thoughts on the changing role of teachers in the current technological era, the true objectives of education, sense of duty, tolerance, and teachers' contributions to nation-building. He asserted that the aim of education is not just to obtain a degree but to become a responsible citizen.

The program was compered by Shivansh Chaurasia and Lokesh Sahu. Several other students and staff members, including Mrs. Aarti Mehra, Satyavati Vishwakarma, Priyanshi Lodhi, Koushalya Kurmi, Bushra Khan, Ritika Thakur, Krishnakant Lodhi, Sunil Dubey, Santosh Tiwari, Madhav Nema, Shani Tiwari, Ankita Rai, Khushboo Mishra, Dharmendra Lodhi, Priyanshi Jain, Ritu Mishra, and Riya Gupta, also shared their views.

Students presented cultural and creative performances, which enhanced the event's splendor. The presence of all college staff members and a large number of students contributed to the success of this celebration.
