Activists of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mahila Morcha in Balrampur staged a significant protest on Monday against alleged derogatory remarks made towards women. The demonstration commenced from the BJP office at Atal Bhawan, from where the female workers initiated a march.
The procession traversed the main thoroughfares of the city, culminating at Ambedkar Chowk. Here, the activists vociferously expressed their anger through slogans, causing considerable disruption to traffic for an extended period.
The protest was jointly led by Savitri Gupta, Chairperson of the Utraula Municipal Council, and BJP District Vice Presidents Adya Singh ‘Pinky’ and Vandana Paswan. These leaders strongly condemned the alleged statements made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and a Congress MP.
Demonstrators asserted that leaders active in public life must always uphold decorum in their language and conduct. They have demanded a public response from the concerned leaders regarding their statements.
