Over 13 lakh students to appear for Bihar Inter Board Exams

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) is set to begin the 2026 Class 12 Inter examinations from February 2, marking the start of a major academic exercise involving more than 13.18 lakh candidates statewide.

Exams will be held at 1,762 centres under strict surveillance, with officials stepping up arrangements to ensure smooth and fair conduct.

The Board has issued a fresh advisory urging students to follow all rules carefully to avoid last-minute issues.

Important guidelines BSEB students must follow

1. Reach the exam centre early

Students are advised to reach at least 30 minutes before the reporting time to complete security checks comfortably.

2. Carry these documents

BSEB admit card (mandatory)

A valid photo ID proof

Only permitted stationery (blue/black pen, transparent pouch)

3. Items strictly banned inside the centre

Mobile phones

Bluetooth devices

Smartwatches

Bags, books or written notes

Calculator (unless allowed for specific papers)

4. Follow seating plans and supervisor instructions

Centre superintendents will verify admit cards and allocate seats as per the official list. Any mismatch must be immediately reported.

5. Avoid unfair means

Bihar has zero tolerance for malpractice. Students caught cheating may face:

immediate disqualification

cancellation of the entire exam

a ban from future BSEB exams

Security tightened across exam centres

To curb impersonation and cheating, the BSEB has deployed:

CCTV cameras in sensitive centres

Exam pattern and schedule reminders

The Inter exams will be conducted in two shifts:

Morning: 9:30 am to 12:45 pm

Afternoon: 2 pm to 5:15 pm

Students will receive 15 minutes of cool-off time before writing answers.

Subjects will be tested across Arts, Science and Commerce streams through February.
