Bihar 2025: Chirag Paswan Endorses Nitish Kumar, Slams Opposition Over ‘Jannayak’ Legacy War

In a dramatic political turnaround ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) Chief Chirag Paswan has publicly endorsed Nitish Kumar as the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) chief ministerial face — a sharp departure from his 2020 stance when he campaigned aggressively against the JD(U) leader.

Speaking at a rally in Patna, Paswan said it “hurts to see that P. J. Yadav and Rahul Gandhi are trying to steal the Jannayak title from Bharat Ratna Karpuri Thakur, who remains the true icon of social justice in Bihar.”

Paswan also took aim at the Mahagathbandhan, particularly Tejashwi Yadav, over issues such as the Waqf Bill and the “political misuse” of the Muslim vote bank. His statements come amid an intense battle over the political legacy of Karpuri Thakur — a revered former Chief Minister and social reformer.

While Paswan’s endorsement brings clarity to the NDA’s Bihar strategy, Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s position on the alliance’s CM candidate remains notably non-committal, adding intrigue to the evolving power dynamics.
