Bhopal Police Launches QR-Based System to Report SHO Misconduct, Traffic Issues

In a major push towards transparent and tech-driven policing, Police Commissioner Harinarayanchari Mishra has rolled out a digital grievance system that enables citizens to directly report SHO-level misconduct and lapses in complaint redressal.

Under the new mechanism, QR codes are being installed outside all 38 police stations in Bhopal. Once fully activated within the next two days, any complaint submitted via these codes will reach the commissioner’s office instantly, ensuring accountability at the police-station level.

How the New QR Complaint System Works

  • A special QR code will be displayed at the entrance of every police station.

  • Scanning the code opens a complaint-and-suggestion portal.

  • Citizens can upload photos, videos or documents as evidence.

  • All entries will be monitored directly by the Police Commissioner, enabling swift action in cases involving ignored complaints, rude conduct or unnecessary delays by station staff.

Traffic Police Also Go High-Tech

To tackle increasing congestion, the Bhopal Traffic Police has launched a separate QR-based reporting system.
These QR codes—placed at major public points—allow citizens to instantly report:

  • Traffic jams

  • Faulty traffic signals

  • Wrong/obstructive parking

  • Accident-prone spots

  • Any traffic-related issue

Complaints will be reviewed at the DCP Traffic Office, and corrective measures will follow.

Commissioner’s Statement

Commissioner Mishra said the new QR initiatives would make grievance reporting seamless and strengthen communication between the public and senior officials. With this system, both police station functioning and traffic management will remain under continuous public and administrative scrutiny, he added.
