Municipal Corporation Launches Major Campaign Against Illegal Businesses in Residential Areas

The Bhopal Municipal Corporation has initiated a large-scale operation on Monday against commercial activities operating illegally in the residential areas of Bhopal city. Six special teams from the Municipal Corporation carried out sealing actions in 16 key areas across the city. For maintaining law and order and handling any untoward incidents during this campaign, police forces from seven police stations were deployed.

This campaign is targeting hotels, resorts, marriage gardens, and other commercial establishments that are operating in violation of rules within residential zones. Additionally, action is being taken against commercial shops operating within residential houses. The Municipal Corporation had previously issued a final 24-hour notice to these establishments, and now sealing action is being taken against those that failed to comply within the stipulated timeframe.

Stringent Action Against Illegal Operations

To ensure the success of this campaign, 56 officers and employees of the Municipal Corporation divided into six special teams took to the ground. These teams are conducting thorough document verification in the identified premises. All aspects are being examined, including adherence to approved land use regulations and whether activities in residential areas comply with set standards. Properties found to be in violation of rules are being immediately sealed.

Action Taken Based on Local Residents' Complaints

Local residents were facing problems such as traffic jams, parking issues, excessive noise, and other security concerns due to commercial activities in residential areas. The Municipal Corporation had been receiving continuous complaints regarding these issues. Based on these complaints, the Municipal Corporation investigated violations in the identified areas and proceeded with the action.

Compliance with Supreme Court Directives

This campaign by the Municipal Corporation is also part of compliance with Supreme Court directives. According to officials, a detailed report of this entire operation is being prepared, which will be presented before the Supreme Court on September 15. The Municipal administration has clarified that action against those operating commercial activities in residential areas contrary to rules will continue in the future. This coordinated action has created a state of panic among illegal business operators.
