Municipal Corporation Ensures Clean Water Supply

The Bhopal Municipal Corporation is continuously striving to ensure a seamless supply of clean and germ-free drinking water to its citizens. As part of this effort, the collection of water samples for quality checks, water testing, and repair of leaks in drinking water pipelines are being carried out on a war footing.

On Monday, Corporation staff collected water samples from 91 different locations in the city and carried out repair work on drinking water pipelines at 11 locations.

Extensive Water Sampling and Testing Underway

In compliance with the directives of Municipal Commissioner Mrs. Sanskruti Jain, employees of the Water Works Department collected a total of 91 water samples from various areas including Shiv Nagar, Neelbad, Jharneshwar Complex, Shastri Nagar, Durga Nagar, Yadavpura, Kotra Sultanaabad, Mukaddas Nagar, Rajiv Nagar, Ashok Nagar, Sabzi Farm, Arera Colony, Shankar Nagar, Ishwar Nagar, Kumharpura, and Sardar Pura.

To date, a total of 28,561 water samples have been collected from the city, including 13,094 samples from slum areas. All these samples are undergoing continuous water testing at the Corporation's eight testing laboratories.

Swift Resolution of Pipeline Leakages and Complaints

To address any disruptions in water supply, the Corporation's Water Works Department has successfully repaired leakages in drinking water pipelines at 11 different sites, including Karim Bakhsh Colony, Local Market, Jumarati, Peepal Chowk, Bagh Munshi Hussain Khan, Kazi Camp Purana Naka area, near Moti Masjid water tank, Jahangirabad Bazaar, E-7 Lala Lajpat Rai Society, Baghsewnia, Diksha Nagar, and Shakti Nagar.

The Corporation has so far completed repair work on a total of 7,792 leakages. Additionally, Corporation staff have ensured the cleaning of sewage chambers at 22,579 locations.

Alongside these actions, the Municipal Corporation is also focusing on the swift resolution of complaints received through the CM Helpline, Mayor Helpline, and other public communication channels. Three complaints received through various channels on Monday were also successfully resolved.

This comprehensive campaign underscores the Corporation's commitment to providing high-quality drinking water to the city's residents.
