Citywide Anti-Encroachment Operations Underway

In its ongoing campaign to free the city from encroachments, the Bhopal Municipal Corporation has been carrying out continuous actions. Corporation staff have removed vendors' carts, goods displayed outside shops, platforms built over drains, and illegal constructions that had occupied public spaces in various areas.

During this operation, a significant number of vendor carts, counters, and crates were seized. As per the directions of Municipal Commissioner Mrs. Sanskriti Jain, the Corporation's anti-encroachment squad conducted an extensive clearing drive on Tuesday across numerous localities including Bhadbhada Road, Shabri Nagar, Panchsheel Nagar, Roshanpura, Retghat, Ravindra Bhawan, New Market, M.P. Nagar Zone-2, Press Complex, Avadhpuri, Raisen Road, Patel Nagar, Jahangirabad, Shabbban Chowk, Bhopal Talkies, DIG Bungalow, Purani Sabzi Mandi, Royal Market, Hamidia Hospital Gate, New Kabadi Khana, Shahjahanabad, Bhanpur, Vidisha Road, Patel Market, Karond Chowk, Peepal Chowk, Vishwakarma Nagar, Navi Bagh, Abbas Nagar, Lalgati, Singarcholi, Bairagarh, Bairagarh Fire Station, and surrounding market areas.

Action Against Illegal Constructions and Encroached Goods

Throughout the operation, Corporation staff removed numerous carts illegally set up on roads and public spaces. Additionally, goods kept outside shops in various areas were also cleared. In the vicinity of the Bairagarh Ward Office and the Singarcholi area, platforms illegally constructed over drains were dismantled, and in the Shahjahanabad area, slabs placed over drains were also removed.

An illegal kiosk on Bhanpur Road and three four-wheeler vehicles obstructing traffic on Avadhpuri BDA Road were also impounded. A temporary makeshift shelter was removed from the Navi Bagh area. In total, the Corporation seized 05 vendor carts, 01 counter, and 27 crates during this period.

Support for Metro Project

The Corporation team also supported the Metro Project team by demolishing a shutter outside a shop and an illegally constructed wall in the Roshanpura area with the help of a JCB. This action was undertaken to remove obstacles hindering the metro construction work.

This series of actions is part of resolving complaints received through the CM Helpline, Mayor Helpline, and other channels, as well as the Corporation's regular enforcement activities. The Corporation administration has clarified that these anti-encroachment measures will continue uninterrupted, and all possible efforts will be made to systematically organize the city.
