Bhopal Municipal Corporation Clears Encroachments Across Various Areas, Removes Carts and Kiosks

Extensive Anti-Encroachment Drive Conducted

The Bhopal Municipal Corporation has undertaken a comprehensive operation against encroachments in various parts of the city, removing a significant number of illegal occupations. Acting on the directives of Corporation Commissioner Mrs. Sanskriti Jain, the anti-encroachment squad took action simultaneously in several areas on Monday.

With the aim of facilitating citizens and easing traffic, stalls, kiosks, and paan parlors set up illegally on footpaths, along with goods, counters, boards, stools, chairs, and tables placed outside shops, were seized. The anti-encroachment squad targeted key areas including New Market Hanuman Temple, Nehru Nagar LIC Office, Corporation Headquarters Atal Bhawan, Link Road Number 1, 2, 3, Shyam Nagar, Bitten Market, Bharat Mata Square, Sakshi Dhaba, Bhadbhada, Suraj Nagar, Bawadia Square, Ashima Mall, Bagsewania, Vishwakarma Temple Bagsewania, Om Nagar Square, Budhwara Char Batti Square, Golghar, Imami Gate, Safia College, Rafiqia School, and Chola Road Bus Stand. Illegal encroachments in all these locations were obstructing public spaces.

Action Against Vehicles Causing Traffic Congestion

The Municipal Corporation's crackdown extended beyond just footpath encroachments to include four-wheeled vehicles causing traffic disruption. Four vehicles were seized from the Budhwara Char Batti Square area, and one from the Golghar area, with action taken against those violating regulations.

The objective of this joint operation was to streamline the city and make commuting smoother and safer for citizens. This action was part of the corporation's regular work plan, in addition to addressing complaints received through the CM Helpline, Mayor Helpline, and other channels. The corporation's effort is a significant step towards keeping the city encroachment-free and ensuring the organized use of public properties.
