Grand Celebration of 80th Independence Day in Bhopal Division

The Bhopal Division of West Central Railway organized a dignified ceremony filled with the pride of the national flag and patriotic enthusiasm on the occasion of the nation's 80th Independence Day on August 15, 2026. On this occasion, Divisional Railway Manager, Mr. Pankaj Tyagi, hoisted the flag, inspected the parade, and took the salute.

At the main ceremony held at the Divisional Railway Manager's office, Habibganj, Mr. Tyagi unfurled the national flag, after which the entire premises resonated with the national anthem, filling the air with patriotism. A collective rendition of the national song 'Vande Mataram' also took place.

The disciplined and impressive parade by the Railway Protection Force and various contingents added special dignity and enthusiasm to the ceremony. General Manager's Message and Cultural Presentations

On this special day, the Divisional Railway Manager read out the Independence Day message from the General Manager of West Central Railway. The message underscored the significant role of Indian Railways in nation-building, the dedication of railway employees, their commitment to passenger safety, and the railways' role as a provider of better services.

Following the salute and march-past by the parade, cultural programs filled with patriotism were presented. The performances by the artists instilled a sense of national pride and enthusiasm among the assembled railway officials, employees, and their families.

Presence of Officials and Employees

During the ceremony, Additional Divisional Railway Managers Mr. Abhiram Khare and Mr. Yogendra Baghel, Senior Divisional Personnel Officer Mr. Vijay Singh, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner Dr. Abhishek, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Mr. Saurabh Kataria, along with all senior officers, employees, and a large number of railway staff were present.

During the program, the Divisional Railway Manager and the President of the Divisional Welfare Organisation released tri-coloured balloons into the open sky, symbolizing freedom, hope, unity, and the nation's bright future.

After the main ceremony, flag hoisting and other programs were also organized at the Rail Institute, Bhopal. Additionally, the national flag was hoisted on a railway engine at Boat Club, Bhopal, expressing the railway family's patriotism and sense of national pride.

Electrical Decoration on the Eve of Independence Day

It is noteworthy that on the eve of Independence Day, the Bhopal Divisional Office, Rani Kamlapati Railway Station, and Bhopal Railway Station were illuminated with attractive tri-coloured electrical decorations. These railway premises, adorned with colorful lights, became a center of attraction for passengers and the general public, further enhancing the joy of Independence Day.

Through these programs organized by the Bhopal Division, a message of dedication to the nation, national unity, discipline, diligence, and the service spirit of Indian Railways was conveyed.
