Corporation Intensifies Action Against Commercial Use of Residential Properties

The Bhopal Municipal Corporation has decided to broaden its crackdown on the commercial use of residential properties within the city. Following initial actions on select buildings, the corporation is now preparing to conduct an extensive survey across all 21 zones of Bhopal.

The primary objective of this survey is to ensure that residential buildings are not being utilized for commercial activities in contravention of established rules. Survey teams from the Municipal Corporation will meticulously inspect properties in various neighborhoods and colonies, examining each one.

If any residential building is found to be in violation of regulations during the survey, the owner of the concerned property will be issued a notice on the spot. This initiative is being hailed as a significant step towards curbing the proliferation of illegal commercial activities in residential areas.

Comprehensive Survey and Immediate Notices for Violations

According to the Municipal Corporation's plan, the survey will be conducted in every corner of the city to prevent any potential violations. The corporation estimates that a substantial number of properties are being used for commercial purposes, deviating from their approved residential use.

Immediate action will be taken for violations identified during the survey, including the on-site issuance of notices. While this action is causing some discontent among traders, many resident welfare associations are supporting the corporation's efforts against illegal commercial activities and unauthorized constructions, demanding strict enforcement.

Supreme Court Deadline Adds Pressure

This action by the Bhopal Municipal Corporation is also linked to a report to be submitted to the Supreme Court. The corporation is mandated to present a detailed report of actions taken by September 15th to the court.
