Bhopal Corporation Intensifies Anti-Encroachment Drive, Seizes Numerous Stalls and Kiosks

Citywide Crackdown on Encroachments

The Bhopal Municipal Corporation has significantly ramped up its anti-encroachment operations, deploying bulldozers to remove illegal occupations in various parts of the city. Actions were taken based on complaints received through the CM Helpline, Mayor Helpline, and other channels, as well as routine enforcement.

The campaign saw the removal of a large number of vendor carts, kiosks, illegal platforms, temporary shelters, and other obstructions. Under the direction of Corporation Commissioner Ms. Sanskruti Jain, the anti-encroachment squad conducted operations in key areas including Kolar, Jawahar Chowk, M.P. Nagar, Jehangirabad, Ashoka Garden, Hoshangabad Road, Ayodhya Bypass, and Ibrahimganj.

Removal of Illegal Structures and Obstructions

During the drive, illegal platforms built over drains, vegetable and clothing stalls encroaching on footpaths, and goods displayed outside shops were removed. The primary focus of the operation was also on dismantling illegal constructions.

In Kolar's Kanha Kunj, an illegal temporary shelter was demolished. Meanwhile, in areas like Karod and Ibrahimganj, illegally constructed platforms over drains were also razed by the corporation's team. Approximately 10 four-wheeler vehicles obstructing traffic on Misrod Road were also towed away during the operation.

Seizure of Goods and Materials

Alongside clearing encroachments, the corporation confiscated a substantial quantity of goods. The seized items include vendor carts, kiosks, paan parlors, benches, tables, chairs, gunny sacks of onions, plastic sheeting, iron tables, mat stands, flex boards, and trolleys.

This initiative is being undertaken with the objective of ensuring smooth public movement and maintaining the cleanliness of the city.
