Municipal Corporation Cracks Down on Hygiene Violations

The Bhopal Municipal Corporation has taken strict action against offenders under the Solid Waste Management Rules 2026, aiming to ensure cleanliness in the city. On Sunday, the corporation's team conducted campaigns across various areas, collecting a total of ₹11,000 in spot fines from seven cases.

This action was directed at shopkeepers who were not adhering to stipulated rules, spreading pollution, or operating without licenses. Following the directives of Corporation Commissioner Mrs. Sanskruti Jain, the team from Zone No. 16 inspected chicken and mutton shops located at the Ayodhya Bypass Chowk in Ward No. 67.

Hygiene Violations Lead to Significant Fines

During the inspection, several vendors were found to be spreading filth around their shops. The municipal team took action against six chicken and mutton business operators, collecting a total of ₹6,000 in spot fines.

In a separate action concerning unlicensed businesses and filth, a shopkeeper in Indrapuri C-Sector was also penalized. This vendor was operating without the necessary license and was spreading dirt around the premises. The municipal team levied a fine of ₹5,000 in this case.

Continued Campaign for a Cleaner Bhopal

Thus, a total of ₹11,000 was recovered as spot fines/penalties across seven cases. The Municipal Corporation will continue this campaign to ensure strict compliance with the Solid Waste Management Rules. The corporation administration has appealed to all business owners to adhere to the rules and maintain cleanliness around their establishments, thereby keeping the city clean and pollution-free.
