Enhanced Transparency and Consumer-Friendliness for PDS
A significant step has been taken towards making the Public Distribution System (PDS) in Bhind district more transparent, efficient, and consumer-friendly. A high-level meeting, chaired by Collector Pawan Kumar Jain, was attended by senior officials from Food Supply, Warehouse Corporation, Cooperative Bank, and Civil Supplies Corporation.
The primary objective of the meeting was to review the current status of the distribution system and ensure concrete measures for its improvement. Collector Jain gave top priority to the maintenance and repair of government fair price shops. He issued clear instructions to GMCCB Cooperative to immediately improve the condition of these shops so that ration cardholders can receive better facilities.
Action on Distribution and e-KYC Lapses
During the meeting, the Collector asked the managers of the Civil Supplies Corporation and Warehouse Corporation to ensure that quality ration reaches all shops seamlessly within the stipulated time frame. He also clarified that accountability will be fixed at every stage of supply, storage, and transportation.
Reviewing the progress of distribution percentages and e-KYC (electronic-KYC), the Collector expressed deep dissatisfaction with the lack of expected momentum. He warned that strict departmental action will be taken against responsible officials if there is any laxity in meeting the set targets. These directives are considered crucial for ensuring accountability within the PDS system.
Emphasis on Transparency and Timely Distribution
Collector Pawan Kumar Jain finally emphasized that providing quality ration to eligible families on time is one of the government's top priorities. To achieve this goal, continuous monitoring and micro-checking will be conducted at all stages of the supply chain. Any complaints received will be ensured to be resolved quickly and effectively.
Significant improvements in the district's public distribution system are expected with the effective implementation of these directives.
