Bhind Women's Congress Flags Road Safety Concerns and Fertilizer Crisis

Concerns Over Highway Safety and Farmer Distress

The Bhind Women's Congress has voiced strong opposition against the persistent road accidents on the Gwalior-Bhind-Etawah Highway (NH-719) and the critical fertilizer crisis faced by farmers in the district. A delegation, led by District President Mrs. Shanti Kushwaha, submitted a memorandum to District Collector Kirodi Lal Meena on Monday, urging immediate attention and effective action on these pressing matters.

The memorandum expressed deep concern over the deteriorating condition of National Highway 719 and the continuous loss of lives on this route. The Women's Congress demanded the prompt identification of accident-prone areas, also known as 'black spots', on the highway.

Demands for Enhanced Road Safety and Fertilizer Availability

The organization further called for the swift implementation of road repairs, installation of clear directional signage, and other essential safety measures to ensure public safety and reduce accident frequency. The group believes these steps are crucial to curbing the number of incidents.

In addition to road safety, the memorandum underscored the severe problems faced by farmers in securing fertilizer during the crucial Rabi crop sowing season. The Women's Congress urged the administration to ensure the adequate availability of fertilizer to farmers through cooperative societies.

Emphasis was also placed on making the fertilizer distribution system completely transparent, fair, and streamlined to ensure timely delivery of this essential input to needy farmers. Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Shanti Kushwaha stated that the Women's Congress would not remain indifferent to the problems of the public and farmers.

"The organization will continue to raise its voice in the future as well to protect the interests of the public and the rights of our annadatas (food providers)," she asserted.

Other office bearers and workers of the Bhind Women's Congress were present during the memorandum submission, reflecting the organization's seriousness regarding these issues.
