'Srijan Samvad Yojana' Conducts Awareness Session

Under the 'Srijan Samvad Yojana', a community policing initiative by the Police Headquarters Bhopal, an important session was held on Monday at Sandipani Higher Secondary School No. 02 in Bhind district. The program aimed to foster civic awareness and a sense of security among young individuals.

Eighty-five students from grades 11 and 12 participated in a constructive dialogue with police officers and master trainers. They discussed civic duties, legal procedures, and the workings of the justice system. This session marked the fourth and final phase of the plan, focusing on strengthening legal literacy and safety consciousness among youth.

Understanding Civic Rights and Responsibilities

The primary objective of this initiative was to make the youth aware of their civil rights and responsibilities, and to familiarize them with the functioning of the justice system. DSP (SC/ST Act) Ajay Panwar, the nodal officer for the scheme, provided detailed information to the students about the Indian Constitution, civic duties, and their rights.

He explained crime control, the process of filing an FIR, investigation procedures, and trial proceedings in the court in simple language. Additionally, he shed light on the legal framework for protecting victims and ensuring punishment for offenders.

Discussion on Social Evils and Legal Provisions

DSP Ajay Panwar also engaged students in a constructive discussion on social evils, the importance of de-addiction, the role of child protection homes, and key provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act. The aim was to sensitize students to these issues and inspire them to bring about positive change in society.

This 'Srijan Samvad Yojana' is being implemented under the joint aegis of the Madhya Pradesh Police and the School Education Department, with technical support from UNFPA. Dinesh Singh Bhadauria, the school-level master trainer (ToT) and lecturer for the scheme, stated that its main goal is to develop legal awareness, responsible citizenship, a sense of security, and an understanding of access to the justice system among youth.

Cybercrime and Social Media Awareness

Sub-Inspector Amit Singh Sikarwar, another master trainer from the police department, emphasized the need for caution while using the internet and social media. He used examples to explain potential dangers and adverse consequences of sending friend requests to unknown individuals, creating Instagram Reels, sharing personal information, or online chatting.

Sub-Inspector Sikarwar advised students not to panic in case of any blackmailing or cybercrime incidents. He urged them to inform their parents immediately and seek police assistance. He also provided information about the 'Main Abhimanyu Hoon' campaign, run by the women's safety wing, which specifically focuses on child protection.

Phase One Completion and Police Station Visits

Under the first phase of the 'Srijan Samvad Yojana' in Bhind district, 75% of the approximately 600 selected students from grades 11 and 12 at the government Sandipani School have been successfully included. This phase involved weekly dialogue sessions and police station visits.

As part of this, a final group of students will depart for a police station visit via special police vehicles on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 3:00 PM, where they will gain firsthand insight into the practical aspects of policing. The police station visit is scheduled for September 1, 2026.

Upcoming Phases and District Implementation

The multidimensional plan is being implemented in two main phases in the district. The first phase, from August 5 to September 15, 2026, will conclude in selected schools at the district headquarters. Subsequently, from September 15 to October 30, 2026, the second phase of the scheme will be implemented at the tehsil and subdivision levels, ensuring that students in rural and remote areas also benefit.

At the conclusion of the program, school ToT lecturer Dharmendra Singh Bhadauria expressed his sincere gratitude to the police officers and guests. He encouraged the students to remain disciplined and internalize the objectives of the 'Srijan Samvad Yojana' in their lives to become responsible and aware citizens in the future.
