Several people have gone missing during Ganesh idol immersion in the Kwari River in Bhind, Madhya Pradesh, prompting a large-scale rescue operation.

Tragic Accident During Ganesh Immersion in Kwari River
A distressing incident has occurred in Kanawar village, Bhind district, during the Ganesh idol immersion ceremony. Several individuals have gone missing amidst the rising water levels and strong currents of the Kwari River.
Following the incident, the administration has launched an intensive search and rescue operation. The challenging river conditions and powerful flow are making the rescue efforts difficult.
Extensive Search and Rescue Operations Underway
To expedite the rescue and ensure a thorough search, the administration has deployed three teams of the State Disaster Emergency Response Force (SDRF) and one team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to the site. These four teams are continuously searching various parts of the river for the missing persons.
The rescue teams are utilizing their full capacity to search amidst the strong currents and turbulent waters. They are also gathering information from local residents to identify potential locations of the missing individuals.
District Collector Oversees Relief Efforts
District Collector Kirodi Lal Meena personally visited Kanawar village to assess the situation and inspect the accident site. He reviewed the progress of the rescue activities along the riverbank and received detailed information from the rescue teams and administrative officials.
The Collector has instructed for the maximum and effective utilization of all available resources to ensure the swift recovery of the missing persons. He has strictly warned the rescue teams against any negligence.
To manage the critical situation and maintain law and order, a large police force has been deployed, including the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Sub-Divisional Officer Police (SDOP), Tehsildar, and the respective police station in-charge. Administrative officials are constantly monitoring the situation and assuring the affected families of all possible support.
Despite adverse weather and challenging circumstances, the primary objective of the local administration is the safe recovery of the missing individuals. Surveillance has also been increased in areas surrounding the river to prevent any further untoward incidents. The District Collector has also directed that all possible government assistance be provided to the families of the victims.
