Ensuring Timely Fertilizer Availability for Rabi Season

In anticipation of the Rabi season, a crucial meeting was held at the Collectorate auditorium in Bhind district, chaired by Collector Pawan Kumar Jain. The primary objective was to guarantee the timely availability of fertilizers to farmers. Representatives from fertilizer wholesalers and various supplier companies participated in this important deliberation.

During the meeting, a detailed review was conducted concerning the distribution, transportation, storage, and stock management of fertilizers. Collector Jain emphasized the need for a completely transparent fertilizer distribution system. He issued clear instructions to the concerned officials to ensure adequate arrangements, including nighttime operations, to maintain a seamless transportation and supply chain.

Strict Regulations on Fertilizer Sales and Counterfeit Goods

Transporters involved in the movement of fertilizers were directed to ensure safe and timely delivery of the product to its destination. Collector Jain also stressed the importance of encouraging farmers to focus on the balanced use of all available fertilizers, not just DAP, Urea, and NPK.

The Collector adopted a firm stance on the issue of mandatory tagging of other products along with fertilizers. He explicitly stated that farmers should not be coerced into purchasing pesticides, zinc, or any other products alongside fertilizers. Fertilizers must be sold only at prescribed rates.

He warned that strict action would be taken against anyone violating these regulations. Furthermore, the Collector provided special instructions to the Deputy Director of Agriculture to initiate the severest legal measures against sellers of counterfeit fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides. He declared that any leniency towards such sellers would not be tolerated and stringent legal action would be enforced.

Other Key Directives and Assurances

Companies have been instructed to send proposals to their head offices regarding additional expenses incurred in loading and unloading, aiming to rationalize these costs. The meeting was attended by Additional Collector Rajan B Nadia, Deputy Director of Agriculture Ram Sujan Sharma, representatives of the Fertilizer Union, and regional officers from major companies. The administration has assured farmers that no unnecessary difficulties will be allowed to impede them.
