Panchayat Secretary Suspended Over Negligence
Bhind, October 22, 2026 – In a significant development for local governance, Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat, Veersingh Chauhan, conducted a surprise inspection of the Deenpura Gram Panchayat in Janpad Panchayat Bhind on Wednesday, October 22. The inspection revealed that the Panchayat Bhavan was locked and key officials, including the Sarpanch, Secretary, and Gram Rozgar Sahayak, were absent.
Due to this negligence, an order was issued for the immediate suspension of the Panchayat Secretary. The surprise visit aimed to assess administrative functions, public sanitation, and the ground-level quality of various development projects.
Quality Concerns in Development Projects
During the inspection, it was found that the old concrete road leading to Shanti Dham was in a damaged condition. CEO Chauhan has ordered an immediate investigation into this matter. Furthermore, a lack of cleanliness and fencing was observed within the Shanti Dham premises, necessitating prompt remedial action.
The Chief Executive Officer adopted a strict stance regarding the quality of construction work. He issued a notice to the concerned Sub-Engineer, directing that no new construction work be permitted until the quality investigation of ongoing projects is completed. This measure is intended to ensure that future constructions are of high quality and durable.
Revenue Recovery and Action Against Illegal Construction
Issues such as unaddressed garbage in drains and inadequate sanitation were also highlighted during the village visit. CEO Chauhan expressed deep displeasure and ordered immediate improvements. He also ordered the immediate commencement of the recovery of all pending taxes, including property tax.
Regarding the construction of illegal colonies and houses built without permission, the concerned officials were asked to provide documentation for licenses and development permits. Strict legal action will be taken if these documents are not provided within the stipulated timeframe.
Veersingh Chauhan clarified that the primary objective of this inspection was not to punish any employee, but to ensure that villagers receive better roads, a clean environment, and a transparent revenue system. He emphasized the importance of maintaining quality and transparency in development works to ensure that the benefits of public amenities are delivered to all citizens with full commitment.
