Public Grievances Heard at Bhind Municipality, Solutions Mandated

At the Bhind Municipality office on October 9, 2026, residents from various wards presented memorandums detailing their concerns during a public hearing chaired by Chief Municipal Officer (CMO) Virendra Chakravarti. The primary objective of this significant event was to directly address citizen complaints and ensure their prompt and effective resolution.

During the hearing, citizens predominantly raised issues such as irregularities in water supply, poor road conditions, the absence or malfunction of streetlights, and the lack of regular drain cleaning. CMO Virendra Chakravarti listened patiently to each complaint and issued necessary directives on the spot to the concerned officials and department heads for the resolution of these problems.

He emphasized that providing better facilities to citizens is the top priority for the municipality administration and that any laxity or negligence in this regard will be taken seriously. He issued a stern warning that any employee found negligent in resolving public grievances will face strict disciplinary action as per rules.

Emphasis on Swift Resolution of Public Issues

The municipality administration has strived to ensure that all complaints received during the public hearing are resolved within a stipulated timeframe. In his address, CMO Chakravarti stated that the municipality's responsibility is not just to collect complaints but also to resolve them on the ground.

He directed the officials present to visit the wards within their jurisdiction, assess the actual conditions, and prioritize the fulfillment of citizens' basic needs. Furthermore, officials were instructed to conduct regular checks on water supply, road repairs, and the functioning of streetlights.

Particular attention was highlighted as necessary for addressing complaints regarding water scarcity and waterlogging-related problems. Consumers in several areas alleged that they were not receiving adequate water supply at the scheduled times, impacting their daily lives. Similarly, dilapidated roads and faulty streetlights were creating a sense of insecurity for commuting after dark. Concerns about sanitation due to the inadequate cleaning of drains were also expressed, increasing the risk of disease outbreaks.

Appeal for Public Participation and Cooperation

On this occasion, the Chief Municipal Officer appealed to the general public for active cooperation in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the city. He urged citizens to take personal responsibility for keeping their surroundings clean and to contact the municipality office immediately or register their complaints on the official helpline number if any civic issue arises.

The administration believes that public participation can lead to significant improvements in the city's development and management. The CMO assured that the purpose of organizing such regular public hearings is to bridge the gap between the administration and the public, enabling problems to be resolved more easily and smoothly.

Various department officials and staff of the municipality were present during this public hearing, who duly recorded citizens' complaints and initiated the process for their resolution.

Future Initiatives and Citizen Feedback

Residents of Bhind city have appreciated this effort to bring their problems directly to senior officials. They expressed hope that the assurances given by the administration will be implemented at the ground level and that essential improvements will be seen in the city's infrastructure.

This initiative by the municipality is considered a positive step towards accelerating the city's development work and providing a better standard of living for the general public. The administration has also assured that this series of public hearings will continue in the future to ensure ongoing convenience for the city residents.
