Major Success Against Illicit Liquor Trade in Bhind

The Cliff News | Bhind | August 23, 2026. The police in Madhya Pradesh's Bhind district have achieved a significant success in their ongoing campaign against the illegal liquor trade. The Dehat police station conducted a raid in the Krishna Nagar Bamba area, seizing 43 crates (387 bulk liters) of illicit Indian liquor from a house.

Seizure and Arrest

The estimated value of the seized liquor is reported to be Rs 2,15,000. In connection with this incident, the police have arrested one accused and registered a case against him under the Excise Act. This operation was carried out under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Suraj Kumar Verma, Additional Superintendent of Police Pradeep Patel, and City Superintendent of Police Niranjan Singh Rajput.

Swift Action Based on Informant Tip

The team, led by Dehat Station House Officer Inspector Shivpratap Singh Rajawat, made this major recovery based on confidential information received from an informant. According to the information, on the night of August 22, the police received a tip-off that a large consignment of illegal liquor was being stored in a house near Krishna Nagar Bamba for sale.

Raid and Recovery

Upon confirming the information, the police immediately sprang into action, surrounding the mentioned location and conducting a well-planned raid. During the search, the police team recovered 43 crates of illicit Indian liquor from inside the house.

Accused Arrested, Case Registered Under Excise Act

Following the recovery of the liquor, the accused present at the scene, identified as Kailash Narayan Bhatele (son of Ramsevak Bhatele, resident of Krishna Nagar Bamba), was asked to present a valid license or any other documentation for possessing the liquor. The accused was unable to produce any valid documents related to the possession of the liquor. Consequently, the police seized the illicit liquor and registered a case against the accused under Crime No. 569/2026, Section 34(2) of the Excise Act. The accused has been arrested and taken into custody for further interrogation.

Efforts to Uncover Smuggling Network

The Dehat police are conducting intensive interrogation of the arrested accused, Kailash Narayan Bhatele, in this matter. The primary objective of the police is to identify the main suppliers behind this illicit liquor racket, their entire supply chain, and other smugglers and networks involved in this business. The police are hopeful that based on the information obtained from the accused, this large illegal trade will be exposed.
