Heavy Vehicle Ban Implemented in Bhind

The Bhind district administration has implemented a ban on the entry and parking of heavy commercial vehicles on the city's main routes. This decision aims to streamline traffic management and control road accidents within Bhind city.

Issued by Collector and District Magistrate Kirodi Lal Meena, the order is based on sections 115, 116, and 119 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. The route from Subhash Chowk to Parade Chowk and onwards to Indira Gandhi Chowk will be completely restricted for commercial heavy vehicles.

Restrictions and Enforcement

The administration is planning to install permanent barriers on this route to ensure strict adherence to the order. Additionally, parking for heavy commercial trucks with a capacity of 10 wheels or more is now prohibited on both sides of the main route extending from Subhash Chowk via Lahar Chowk to Indira Gandhi Chowk.

Exceptions to this ban will only be considered by the district administration on a case-by-case basis for special and emergency situations. This order is effective from October 8, 2026, to November 7, 2026. Violators will face strict action under Section 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and other relevant punitive provisions.

Public and Business Community Welcomes Decision

Local residents and various business associations have lauded the district administration's decision. They believe this restriction will significantly alleviate traffic jams on the city's busiest main routes, leading to a smoother traffic system.

There is a strong expectation that this measure will also contribute to a reduction in the number of road accidents occurring in the city.
