A joint team from the Municipal Corporation and Revenue Department conducted an intensive inspection of the city's drainage systems across various parts on Saturday to tackle any potential waterlogging issues.

Under the strict directives of Collector Kirodi Lal Meena, administrative officials have personally taken to the field to monitor the situation. The inspection team included Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Mahendra Singh Saunjanya, Municipal Corporation Chief Municipal Officer (CMO) Virendra Chakravarty, Nayab Tehsildar, and Municipal Corporation staff. The officials meticulously examined key settlements, low-lying areas, and main drains.
Drainage Preparedness Proves Effective
Fortunately, despite the continuous heavy rainfall, there have been no reports of water entering any residential areas or homes in the city. The positive impact of the Municipal Corporation's pre-monsoon drain cleaning campaign and current drainage arrangements was evident, allowing rainwater to flow smoothly without obstruction.
24-Hour Alert for Drainage Teams
During the inspection, SDM Mahendra Singh Saunjanya and CMO Virendra Chakravarty issued clear instructions to the field staff: drainage teams are to remain on standby 24 hours a day. In areas experiencing even minor waterlogging, immediate deployment of pump sets or additional manpower is to be ensured to facilitate water evacuation.

The officials emphasized preventing any untoward incidents and ensuring prompt relief for citizens. Municipal Corporation CMO Virendra Chakravarty stated that the situation in the city is completely under control, with effective drain cleaning ensuring unimpeded water flow.
