Bhind Food Safety Department Cracks Down on Adulterators, Sends Samples from 8 Establishments for Testing

Intensified Inspection Drive Targets Food Adulteration in Bhind

As part of a special intensive inspection campaign aimed at preventing food adulteration in the district, the Food Safety Department conducted surprise raids on several food business establishments recently. Acting on the orders of the Collector of Bhind, a departmental team collected food samples from a total of 8 establishments across various locations and sent them to Bhopal for examination.

The primary objective of this action is to ensure the quality of food products and protect consumer health. The operation was led by Food Safety Officers Ms. Rekha Soni and Mrs. Kiran Sengar. During the campaign, samples of milk and ghee were collected from Professor Sandeep Singh Bhadauria's firm, Kishan Dairy, located on Kachhnaw Road, Gohad. This sample is crucial for testing the purity of dairy products in the region.

Similarly, a milk sample from Professor Surendra Singh Rathore's firm was collected from the milk vehicle (registration number MP 07 GB 0823) of Jai Ambe Dairy in Ambah. This step specifically focuses on curbing adulteration in the milk supply chain. A sample of S Cooking Medium was collected from Shiv Shakti Trading Company in Mihona, aimed at addressing concerns about adulteration in cooking oils.

Samples were also collected from various firms in the Phoop area. Milk samples were taken from Professor Ashok Singh Bhadauria's firm, Ashok Dairy. Additionally, a milk sample was collected from milk vendor Manohar Singh Bhadauria's milk vehicle (registration number MP 07 ZV 0396) in village Chomho, Phoop, indicating the campaign's reach into rural areas. Furthermore, a milk sample was collected from Brajraj Singh Bhadauria's milk vehicle (Maa Gayatri Dairy) in Phoop.

Two samples of 'Mawa' and one sample of cow's milk were collected from Professor Sudhir Sharma's firm, Brijesh Kirana Store, Phoop, covering a wide range of dairy products. Also, a sample of 'Besan' (gram flour) was sent for testing from Professor Brijesh Singh, to ascertain if this essential food ingredient is adulterated. Upon receipt of the investigation reports, legal action will be taken against establishments found guilty under the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act.

This action will ensure that food businesses adhere to regulations and that consumers receive high-quality products. The campaign's aim is not just punitive but also to raise awareness about food safety and hold all stakeholders accountable. This campaign is a significant and ongoing step towards ensuring food safety in the district and providing adulteration-free products to consumers, demonstrating the department's commitment to protecting public health.
