Street Safety Measures Implemented in Bhind
In response to recent accidents near the Shitala Mata temple area in Gwalior, the Bhind District Administration has taken prompt action to strengthen the city's road safety measures. Acting on clear directives from Collector Pawan Kumar Jain, the Chief Municipal Officer (CMO) of Bhind Municipality, Virendra Chakravarti, personally inspected the long-damaged barrier on Lashkar Road.
During the inspection, CMO Virendra Chakravarti, accompanied by his deputy engineer, assessed the current dilapidated state of the barrier. He has issued immediate instructions for its repair. The Collector specifically emphasized the need to completely halt the uncontrolled entry of heavy vehicles into the city. This initiative by the administration to regulate heavy vehicles is considered a significant step towards prioritizing the safety of local citizens.
CMO Virendra Chakravarti stated that alongside the barrier repair, a work plan is being developed to effectively install barriers during nighttime as well, to control the entry of heavy vehicles. This move is expected to significantly reduce the risk of road accidents on the city's busiest routes. Local residents have welcomed the administration's proactive approach, believing that timely restrictions on heavy vehicle entry will lead to a reduction in accidents on main city roads.
The Municipal administration is now focused on gathering the necessary materials for the repair work and ensuring compliance with safety standards to prevent any untoward incidents in the future.
