Bhind Collector Kirodi Lal Meena Transferred; Cancelling Illegal Arms Licenses a Key Achievement

Administrative Reshuffle in Bhind District

The Madhya Pradesh government issued a transfer list of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers late Tuesday night, bringing about administrative changes in the Bhind district. The outgoing Collector of Bhind, Kirodi Lal Meena, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Finance Department in Bhopal.

Taking over as the new Collector of Bhind is Pawan Kumar Jain, an IAS officer from the 2013 batch. Prior to this appointment, Pawan Kumar Jain was serving as Deputy Secretary in the Cooperative Department. Kirodi Lal Meena had assumed charge as Bhind Collector on October 3, 2025.

Key Achievement: Cancellation of Illegal Arms Licenses

During his tenure, Kirodi Lal Meena carved out a distinct identity among the local populace due to his working style and public-welfare-oriented nature. A significant achievement of his tenure was the cancellation of arms licenses issued illegally in the district.

This matter was linked to the tenure of former Collector Sanjeev Srivastava, wherein 25 arms licenses were sanctioned to some influential individuals based on financial transactions. Following an investigation into these illegal licenses, it became clear that they were issued based on irregularities. Upon Kirodi Lal Meena coming to know of this issue, he took a firm stance and immediately cancelled all 25 licenses.

This bold and impartial step was widely appreciated at the local level. Kirodi Lal Meena was also known for his simple demeanor and was always prompt in addressing the problems of the general public. The new Collector, Pawan Kumar Jain, now faces the crucial responsibility of strengthening the administrative systems in Bhind district and providing new impetus to ongoing development works.
