Following the submissions, the Collector issued immediate directives to relevant officials for the prompt, time-bound, and quality resolution of over 167 applications received.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Panchayat Bhind and the Additional Collector were also present, hearing the applicants' issues. They contributed by issuing important instructions aimed at resolving these matters effectively.

Diverse Issues Under Scrutiny

The applications submitted during the public hearing covered a wide range of critical issues. These included:

  • Pension-related matters
  • Assistance for road accident victims

Prompt Aid for the Differently-Abled

A significant intervention occurred when Shri Krishna, son of Ramnath, from Ward No. 3, Khatik Mohalla in Umri, applied for a tricycle. The Collector immediately took notice and directed officials from the Social Justice Department. Consequently, Shri Krishna was promptly provided with a new tricycle.

This swift action exemplifies the public hearing's objective of addressing common citizens' problems with alacrity and ensuring immediate solutions.

Ensuring Transparency and Accountability

The Collector instructed all relevant officials to keep the applicants informed about the progress of their respective grievances. This measure aims to maintain transparency and foster continued trust among the citizens.

Such public hearings serve as an effective platform for direct communication between the public and the administration. They facilitate understanding of ground-level issues and enable concrete steps towards their resolution.

Objectives of Public Grievance Redressal

The primary goal of the public hearing was to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach the last person in line. It also aims to prevent citizens from facing unnecessary hardship in seeking solutions to their problems.

The Collector emphasized that officials must thoroughly examine each application and ensure prompt action as per rules. He also made it clear that any form of negligence would not be tolerated and disciplinary action could be taken against the responsible parties if necessary.

Addressing Broader Public Services

Beyond individual applications, several other significant issues related to various departments were raised. These included improvements in public health services, availability of drinking water, construction and maintenance of roads, and educational challenges.

The Collector sought reports from the concerned officials on all these matters and directed them to submit action plans for their immediate resolution. He stressed the importance of making all government services accessible and transparent to the public.

Reinforcing the Value of Public Hearings

The case of Shri Krishna receiving a tricycle highlighted the importance of public hearings. This incident demonstrates how a simple public hearing can bring about a positive change in an ordinary person's life.

The Collector stated that such events will be organized regularly to provide citizens with opportunities to present their problems directly to officials. He also appealed to the public to actively participate in these hearings and share their issues and suggestions to help the administration function more effectively.
