Surprise Inspection in Ward 39

Bhind, September 8, 2026 – Following instructions from Collector Kirodi Lal Meena, Bhind Municipal Corporation's Chief Municipal Officer (CMO) Virendra Chakravarti conducted a surprise inspection of Ward Number 39.

The inspection focused on citizen facilities, various construction projects, and other issues related to the Municipal Corporation. CMO Chakravarti issued strict directives to the present staff for prompt action to ensure citizens face no inconvenience regarding basic amenities.

Ward Councilor Manoj Agarwal and the entire administrative staff of the Municipal Corporation were present during the inspection. The primary objective was to understand the prevalent issues in the ward and initiate swift solutions.

CMO Chakravarti particularly focused on construction projects not adhering to regulations. This inspection, conducted under the direction of Bhind Collector Kirodi Lal Meena (who assumed office on September 30, 2025), aimed to understand the ground reality of the Municipal Corporation's various aspects.

Virendra Chakravarti had taken charge as the CMO of Bhind Municipal Corporation on September 1, 2026, and this inspection marked an early and significant step in his tenure.

Special Attention to Building Permissions

CMO Virendra Chakravarti ordered a detailed investigation into ongoing construction of houses in the ward. He specifically directed an immediate examination of the approval and building permission documents for a house under construction in K.K. Bhatta Lane.

This directive aimed to ensure no construction was proceeding without proper authorization or in violation of regulations. A warning was issued for strict action against any construction found to be non-compliant with rules.

The inspection can be seen as part of a review of the implementation of the Automated Building Plan Approval System (ABPAS) used in Madhya Pradesh for online building permissions. Ensuring all constructions adhere to prescribed urban planning and safety standards, as attempted by the ABPAS system, is crucial.

New Road Construction Behind Shiv Vatika to Gain Momentum

Addressing the commuting concerns of Ward 39 residents, the plan for constructing a new road behind Shiv Vatika has been expedited. CMO Chakravarti stated that the estimate for this proposed road has been prepared.

He assured the concerned officials to expedite the process and commence the road construction work as soon as possible. This step is expected to provide significant convenience to local residents and ease daily commutes, contributing to the ward's overall development.

Directives Issued for Street Light and Water Supply Improvement

During the inspection, issues related to electricity and water supply also received special attention. CMO Virendra Chakravarti reviewed the street light arrangements in the ward and instructed the relevant staff to immediately repair all defunct lights and install new ones where needed.

This will improve illumination and safety during nighttime. Additionally, a technical fault in the water supply to the Matadeen Ka Pura area was immediately assessed. It was found that the water supply system was being affected by the construction of new buildings.

The CMO directed the staff to resolve this issue promptly and ensure uninterrupted water supply to residents. He emphasized that any disruption to essential services like water supply would not be tolerated, and responsible officials would be held accountable.

Zero Tolerance on Basic Amenities

Based on all inspections and received information, Chief Municipal Officer Virendra Chakravarti clarified that any negligence in providing basic amenities to the public, such as electricity, water, and road construction or maintenance, will not be tolerated.

He directed officials to ensure timely compliance with all directives to accelerate the city's development work and improve the quality of life for citizens. This action by Virendra Chakravarti sends a clear message that the Municipal Corporation administration will be more vigilant and responsive to citizens' problems.
