Unlicensed Beer Confiscated, Operator Faces Legal Action

In a significant crackdown on the sale and storage of unlicensed beer, the Excise Department has taken action in the Gohad area of Bhind district. Acting on the directives of Collector Kirodilal Meena, a raid was conducted on a cafe and restaurant located in the Mau area under the Gohad circle.

Raid Yields Seizure of Illicit Brew

The operation, guided by Gohad Sub-Divisional Magistrate Vikas Kaimor and District Excise Officer Mahesh Kumar Gaud, took place on Tuesday, September 2. During the raid, the excise team successfully recovered a consignment of illegally stored beer from the establishment. The seized items included 9 cans of 'Bolt Beer', 3 cans of 'Kingfisher', 5 'Stock Cans', and 2 bottles of 'Bolt'.

Legal Proceedings Initiated

A total of 9.80 bulk liters of foreign liquor were confiscated, with an estimated value of approximately ₹2,500. In connection with the illegal liquor, a case has been registered against the accused, Raghv Yadav, under Section 34(1)(a) of the Madhya Pradesh Excise Act, 1915, for the illegal storage and sale of liquor. Further legal proceedings are underway.

Continued Vigilance Against Illicit Liquor Trade

The Excise Department emphasized that strict actions of this nature will continue to be implemented against those involved in the illicit liquor trade and unlicensed sales within the district. The department aims to curb illegal activities related to alcohol in the region. Key roles in this operation were played by Excise Sub-Inspector Narendra Kumar Prajapati and constables Brajesh Jayant, Janak Argal, and Sudip Verma.
