Municipal Council Takes Action on Traffic Congestion

In a significant move to streamline and enhance traffic safety in Bhind city, the Municipal Council has issued directives to improve parking arrangements. Following instructions from Collector Kirodi Lal Meena, Chief Municipal Officer Virendra Chakravarty has sent letters to the managers of twelve major bank branches and the Life Insurance Corporation.

Addressing Chaotic Parking

The action is aimed at mitigating traffic jams caused by disorganized parking in the city's busiest areas. The Municipal Council's letter specifically highlights that bank branches located in areas like Parade Chowk, Etawah Road, Bhuta Bazaar, Pustak Bazaar, Bangla Bazaar, and Lashkar Road experience a high daily influx of customers.

Disruption to Public Life

Due to a lack of adequate parking facilities, customers frequently park their two- and four-wheeler vehicles haphazardly outside bank premises, on main roads, and common pathways. This uncontrolled accumulation of vehicles repeatedly disrupts traffic on the Gwalior-Etawah main highway and other busy parts of the city, inconveniencing the public and hindering emergency services like school transport and ambulances.

Banks Mandated to Implement Solutions

Prioritizing public interest, the Municipal Administration expects banks to take corrective measures. Banks have been instructed to ensure proper parking spaces within or near their premises. Additionally, they are required to assign responsibility to their security guards to manage vehicle parking orderly, preventing unnecessary congestion on the main roads.

Warning Issued for Non-Compliance

Chief Municipal Officer Virendra Chakravarty emphasized that smooth and safe traffic is a right for every citizen. He warned that if bank management fails to take these directives seriously, strict action will be taken against them as per regulations. This decision by the Municipal Council is anticipated to provide significant relief from traffic congestion issues to the residents of Bhind.
