Traffic Safety Meeting Held in Bhind
A crucial meeting of the Road Safety Committee was convened at the Bhind Collectorate auditorium, presided over by Collector Pawan Kumar Jain. The discussion focused on critical issues including the city's traffic system, road repairs, improvement of black spots, and stray cattle management, in anticipation of upcoming festivals.
Present at the meeting were Superintendent of Police Suraj Kumar Verma, Additional Collector Rajan B Nadia, and SDM Mahendra Saunjanya, along with other departmental officials.
Enhanced Traffic Management and Safety Measures
During the meeting, Collector Jain issued clear instructions to the Municipal Council to install radium-equipped barriers at the main market entrances within the next three days. He announced that measures would be put in place to restrict heavy vehicle entry from Subhash Tiraha and the Old Grain Market towards Manshapurna Temple, diverting them towards the bypass.
Furthermore, an order was given to install CCTV cameras at these sensitive locations to bolster security arrangements.
Addressing Stray Cattle and Improving Black Spots
Expressing concern over the increasing number of stray cattle on the roads and the accidents they cause, the Collector highlighted that such incidents have previously resulted in fatalities of both people and cattle. He directed that a joint team from the District Panchayat and Municipal Council will now be responsible for removing stray cattle from the roads and ensuring their safe transfer to designated cow shelters.
He warned that strict action would be taken against any officials failing to cooperate in this vital task.
Swift Medical Aid and Strict Enforcement of Relief Schemes
Discussing other points related to road safety, the Collector instructed the MPRDC to install rumble strips and appropriate signboards at all five identified black spots in the city. Additionally, he directed the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) to immediately share information regarding any road accident with the Traffic In-charge, ensuring prompt benefit from the Prime Minister's Relief Scheme for accident victims.
Collector Jain emphasized and warned that Ayushman Coordinators found negligent or lax in the implementation of the Prime Minister's Relief Scheme would be immediately terminated from service.
Pre-Festival Preparations
The Municipal Council has also been instructed to carry out repairs on main roads and conduct a special cleanliness drive before the festivals, ensuring citizens can celebrate in a safe and clean environment.
