Health Services Improvement Mandated in Bhind

In a significant review meeting held at the Bhind Collectorate auditorium with senior health department officials, Collector Pawan Kumar Jain issued strict instructions to improve the quality of the district's health services. The meeting was attended by Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. JS Yadav, Civil Surgeon Dr. RK Mishra, all Block Medical Officers (BMOs) of the district, and other health officials at the block level.

The primary agenda of the meeting was to evaluate departmental performance and enhance healthcare facilities for public welfare. The Collector specifically emphasized the swift and satisfactory resolution of long-pending complaints registered on the CM Helpline. He directed the concerned Block Medical Officers to ensure that the current backlog of one hundred sixty-one complaints is cleared within the next fifteen days.

The Collector warned of strict action against officials demonstrating negligence in this matter, stating that failure to complete the work within the stipulated period could lead to the withholding of their next increment. This underlines a critical deadline for complaint resolution.

Ensuring 100% Availability at Delivery Centers

Moving forward with the expansion and improvement of health facilities, the Collector conducted a detailed review of all delivery points in the district. He stressed the importance of maintaining 100% availability of all necessary materials for deliveries at every center at all times, ensuring immediate assistance for patients in any emergency.

Furthermore, the Collector directed that patients should only be referred when absolutely necessary, aiming to reduce unnecessary referrals and promote treatment at local health institutions. Prioritizing the health of pregnant women, he also instructed Block Medical Officers to work more actively to increase the percentage of ANC (Antenatal Care) registrations for pregnant women. This will ensure that more expectant mothers receive timely health check-ups and care.

New System to Improve Departmental Coordination

With the objective of better implementation of health services and establishing coordination between various departments, the Collector directed Block Medical Officers to implement a new system. Under this arrangement, they will be required to hold a meeting with the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) of the Women and Child Development Department once a month.

These meetings will be chaired by the respective Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs). The primary aim of this new system is to establish better synergy between ANMs (Auxiliary Nurse Midwives), ASHAs (Accredited Social Health Activists), and Anganwadi workers, and to strengthen the reach of health services at the grassroots level. At the end of the meeting, Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. JS Yadav presented a detailed report on the work being done by the district's health institutions and field health staff, outlining the progress and challenges of various health programs.
