Administration Readies for Festivals

In anticipation of upcoming festivals like Mahanavami, Dussehra, Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti, and Diwali, the district administration in Bhind has intensified its focus on security and arrangements. A district-level peace committee meeting, chaired by Collector Pawan Kumar Jain, was held at the Bhind Collectorate Assembly Hall to discuss measures for ensuring communal harmony and public safety.

Key officials present included Superintendent of Police Suraj Kumar Verma and Nagar Palika Chairperson Varsha Valmiki. The meeting aimed to meticulously review and strengthen arrangements for the festive season.

Festival Arrangements Reviewed

Collector Jain issued directives to the Nagar Palika to ensure adequate lighting along procession routes during the festivals. He also emphasized the urgent repair of potholes on city roads and called for a special cleanliness drive, urging the cooperation of every citizen.

The electricity department was instructed to manage hanging wires and ensure an uninterrupted power supply throughout the city during the festivities. These measures are designed to enhance the overall safety and convenience for residents.

Strict Action Against Food Adulteration

The administration has adopted a firm stance against food adulteration. Collector Jain stated that such offenses could lead to severe punitive actions, including the demolition of houses, beyond just monetary penalties.

He appealed to committee members to immediately report any information regarding adulterators to the Additional Collector, facilitating timely action against such elements. This proactive approach aims to protect public health and prevent fraudulent practices.

Special Guidelines for Durga Idol Immersion

Specific guidelines have been issued by the administration concerning the immersion of Durga idols. It will be ensured that no individual enters the pond or river water during the immersion process.

Cranes and poclain machines will be utilized for the immersion of large idols. Personnel from SDRF, divers, and Home Guards will be deployed at immersion sites to prevent any untoward incidents.

Firecracker Shops Location Fixed, Safety Paramount

Superintendent of Police Suraj Kumar Verma clarified that firecracker shops would not be permitted to operate without proper authorization. For safety reasons, a single designated location will be established for selling firecrackers, and small shops in alleys will not be allowed.

Committee members shared several important suggestions related to traffic management and security during the meeting. The administration has urged all citizens to immerse idols only at designated locations and adhere to the issued regulations, ensuring the safe and joyful celebration of the festivals.
