Bhanu-led Bhartiya Kisan Union Warns of Contesting All Seats in 2027 Elections

Farmers' Grievances Could Lead to Election Contest in 2027, Warns Bhartiya Kisan Union
The Cliff News | Farrukhabad | October 9, 2026 - The national president of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Bhanu) and Kisan Kranti Dal, Thakur Bhanu Pratap Singh, has issued a stern warning to the Uttar Pradesh government. He stated that if the pressing issues facing farmers are not addressed in a timely manner, his organization will field candidates in all assembly constituencies across the state in the 2027 elections.
Singh delivered this warning while addressing a farmer's rally held at Narayan Ashram in Panchal Ghat, Farrukhabad, on Friday. His arrival in Farrukhabad was marked by a grand welcome from party workers, stretching from Baver to the event venue.
Farmer Rally and Honors
The farmer's rally, expertly conducted by Manua Singh Chauhan, saw Thakur Bhanu Pratap Singh deliver his address. During the event, state secretary Keshav Shakya presented Singh with a silver crown, which was then placed on his head by district president Jagpal Singh Rathore and Kshetrapal Singh Rathore. Other office bearers of the organization were also honored with shawls and garlands.
Concerns Over Flooding and Dam Construction
In his address, Thakur Bhanu Pratap Singh expressed deep concern over the significant annual losses incurred by farmers in the Ganga-par (across the Ganges) region due to flooding. He accused the government of failing to take any concrete or effective steps towards dam construction, despite assurances from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
He emphasized that the persistent disregard for the suffering of farmers and poor families could prove costly for the government.
Warning of Electoral Participation
Thakur Bhanu Pratap Singh made it clear that if the government fails to make decisions on farmers' demands within a reasonable timeframe, the Kisan Kranti Dal will be compelled to enter the electoral arena. He asserted that his organization is committed to protecting the interests of farmers and will not tolerate any negligence in this regard.
At the conclusion of the program, a memorandum was submitted to the District Magistrate of Farrukhabad, led by District President Jagpal Singh Rathore. This memorandum urged the government to take swift action on issues concerning farmers.
A large number of office bearers were present, including Pradeep Singh Chauhan, Rajendra Singh Parihar, Sheeshpal Singh, Mohit Nandan, Rajveer Singh Gaur, Dr. Shakir Ali Mansoori, Rajiv Kumar Mishra, Chandrabhan Singh Chauhan, Kumkum Rathore, Ramayan Singh Yadav, Agam Pandey, Udayveer Singh Yadav, Shriniwas Srivastava, Awadhesh Singh Rathore, Deepak Singh Chauhan, Omkar Singh Chauhan, Prashant Dixit, Raju Rathore, Sanjay Shukla, Raju Kashyap, Rammurti Rajput, Rakhpal Singh, Munna Singh Rathore, Vikas Rathore, Rahbar, Aman Siddiqui, Imran Siddiqui, and national spokesperson Thakur Deepak Singh. The organization stressed the need for immediate government action on issues related to farmers' welfare.
