Actor R Madhavan, who has been conferred the Padma Shri as part of the Padma Awards 2026, has described the recognition as a moment that goes far beyond personal achievement, calling it a responsibility he intends to uphold with integrity and commitment.

Speaking after the announcement, Madhavan said the honour was “beyond my wildest dreams” and credited his journey to the unwavering support of his family, mentors, and the love of audiences across the country.

“I accept the Padma Shri with profound gratitude and humility. I receive it on behalf of my entire family, whose constant support and faith have been my greatest strength,” the actor said in a statement.
