Pioneer of Cooperation and Social Reformer Honored

Farrukhabad will respectfully celebrate the 134th birth anniversary of Barrister Babu Brijnandan Lal, a renowned proponent of cooperation and social reformer, on October 25th. A grand ceremony is planned to commemorate his invaluable contributions on this historic occasion.

Preparations for the event were detailed at a press conference held at the Utsav Bhawan Guest House in Barhpur. During the conference, organization officials shared comprehensive information regarding the upcoming celebration.

Championing Farmers' Rights

Born in Barhpur, Farrukhabad, Barrister Babu Brijnandan Lal played a crucial role in protecting farmers' rights during British rule. He initiated a revolutionary step by establishing a cooperative bank, providing farmers with loans at affordable interest rates.

Furthermore, his efforts in reducing the heavy land revenue and taxes imposed on farmers were highly commendable and instrumental in alleviating their financial burdens.

Dedication to Education and Public Service

Babu Brijnandan Lal's dedication to education and public service was exemplary. As a member of the Legislative Council, he successfully advocated for the establishment of government women's schools at all levels to promote girls' education.

He demonstrated outstanding social commitment by donating his personal land for the development of Christian Inter College and the Mission Hospital. Additionally, the grand construction of the Sheetala Mata Temple and the formation of its trust in Barhpur underscore his deep-rooted social consciousness.

Babu Brijnandan Lal, who studied in England alongside former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, also allocated his land for the construction of several government buildings, including those in the Barhpur block. His thoughts and actions continue to serve as a source of inspiration for society today.

Preparations for the Anniversary Ceremony

The press conference saw the presence of several officials, including organization president Aditya Katiyar, vice president Anshul Singh, treasurer Vibhav Ji Lal, along with Ankur Katiyar, Rajat Kumar, Rajesh Saini, Sachin Katiyar, legal advisor Harveer Yadav, and Dharmendra Kanojia.
