Bareilly Police have achieved a significant success by recovering 411 missing and stolen mobile phones as part of a special operation conducted in September 2026. The estimated market value of these recovered devices is approximately Rs 82 lakh.
After completing the verification process, the police are now returning these mobile phones to their original owners. This crucial action was made possible through the combined efforts of the Government of India's CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register) portal, state-of-the-art technical surveillance, and the District Surveillance Cell.
Ongoing Campaign for Lost Devices
Under the direction of the Senior Superintendent of Police, special campaigns are being conducted every month with the objective of returning lost mobile phones to citizens. From January 2026 to September 2026, a total of 3506 mobile phones have been recovered, with an estimated total value of approximately Rs 7 crore 1 lakh 20 thousand.
This comprehensive campaign reflects the police's commitment to providing swift relief to the public and curbing criminal activities. The recovered devices offer substantial financial relief to citizens who had lost their valuable smartphones.
Police Station Performance in September
In terms of recoveries made in September, Subhashnagar Police Station led with 42 mobile phones, highlighting the importance of this special campaign. Following closely, Bheedi Police Station secured the second position with 29 mobile phones recovered.
Other stations also contributed significantly, with Aonla Police Station recovering 28 mobiles, Aliganj Police Station 27, Baradari Police Station 23, and Kotwali Police Station area yielding 20 mobile phones. This achievement fosters healthy competition among police stations, accelerating the process of returning lost devices to citizens.
Awarded Cyber Teams and Public Reassurance
Various cyber teams from different police stations that excelled in this campaign were honored with a cash prize of Rs 1500 each and certificates of appreciation. The cyber teams recognized for their outstanding work include those from Premnagar, Cantt, CB Ganj, Sirohi, Shahi, Visharatganj, Bhamora, Faridpur, Fatehganj East, Bithiri Chandpur, Fatehganj West, Bhojpur, Sheeshgarh, Shergarh, Hafizganj, and Kyoladiya police stations.
This initiative by the police department is proving to be a source of immense relief for ordinary citizens. Not only are they delighted to receive their lost or stolen expensive devices back, but their trust in the police has also grown significantly.
