Gang Behind Fake Property Deeds Uncovered in Bareilly

The Aonla police station area in Bareilly district, Uttar Pradesh, has exposed a gang involved in land manipulation through fraud and forged documents. Police have arrested a total of six individuals, including a 70-year-old elderly woman, in connection with the case.

The accused are alleged to have perpetrated a fraud involving the creation of illegal property deeds for a piece of land belonging to an individual. According to the information received, Chetram Singh, a resident of village Bholapur, filed a complaint with the police alleging a conspiracy concerning his land with Gata number 292.

Conspiracy to Seize Land Foiled

The complaint stated that the accused, posing as the rightful owners, prepared forged documents and subsequently transferred the land via a deed to a woman named Maya Devi. Acting on Chetram Singh's complaint, the police registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (BNS).

The police received precise information from an informant regarding the conspiracy to seize the land. Based on this tip, a team led by the Station House Officer of Aonla raided the residences of the accused in village Bholapur. During this operation, Devendra alias Guddu, Nanhe, Ravindra, Chandrabhan, Gajendra, and 70-year-old Omvati were apprehended.

All these accused are reported to be residents of village Bholapur in the Bhamora police station area. The main architect of this fraud, a person named Ramprasad, was arrested by the police on July 8, 2026, and sent to jail.

Legal Proceedings Underway, Further Investigation Continues

The police have completed the legal formalities against the six arrested accused and have presented them before the court. The police stated that other aspects of the case are also being investigated thoroughly, with the aim of preventing similar incidents in the future and effectively curbing such crimes.

This operation involved Sub-Inspector Dharmpal Singh, Head Constable Ved Prakash, and other police personnel.
