Escalating Legal Woes for Journalist Amal Saini

The troubles of self-proclaimed journalist and YouTuber Amal Saini are mounting in Bareilly. The police have registered another case against Saini and his unidentified associates based on a complaint filed by TSI Jaspal Singh of the Traffic Police.

The complaint alleges that the accused, identifying themselves as YouTubers, would visit police personnel at their duty points and demand illegal monthly extortion. If the money was not provided, they would allegedly create videos of the police officers and spread misleading posts on social media to blackmail them.

This situation is a cause for serious concern within the police department, as it raises questions about their professional image and operational integrity. TSI Jaspal Singh detailed in his complaint how the accused deliberately harassed police personnel engaged in maintaining traffic order.

Allegations of AI Misuse and Defamation

It is alleged that Amal Saini used Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to create doctored images of police officers, which were then disseminated on the social media platform 'X'. These misleading posts aimed to tarnish the image of the police and disrupt their duties.

The misuse of AI-generated content highlights a new and dangerous dimension of spreading misinformation and defaming individuals in society, an area the police are giving special attention to.

Extortion Case Involving a Collectorate Employee

Previously, a report was filed against Amal Saini and his associates based on a complaint by Sanjiv Kashyap, a stenographer at the Collectorate. According to Kashyap, the accused visited his office on September 22, seeking information related to a certificate.

During this visit, they recorded a video of an employee present there. The complainant alleges that Rs 15,000 was demanded in exchange for not releasing the video, with threats of public disclosure if the payment was not made. It is reported that the accused only removed the video from social media after a payment of Rs 10,000 was made.

The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the roles of Saini's other accomplices to determine if an organized gang is operating behind these extortion activities.

Accusations of Incitement to Self-Immolation Lead to Arrest

The scope of Amal Saini's alleged criminal activities is not confined to blackmail and extortion. He also faces a serious charge of inciting a woman from the CB Ganj area to self-immolate.

In this case, the Kotwali police had previously arrested Amal Saini and his associate Shoaib, presenting them in court, after which both were sent to jail. According to the police, the mobile phones, social media handles, and other digital evidence of the accused have been seized and are undergoing detailed examination.

This case underscores serious issues of women's safety and harassment, with expectations of strict legal action.

Expanding Investigation with More Victim Complaints

Sources indicate that the police have received complaints from several other victims, including claims of extortion from individuals associated with hospitals. These complaints suggest that Amal Saini and his associates may have a wider criminal network, targeting vulnerable individuals across various sectors.

Senior police officials stated that legal action will be ensured in all these cases based on concrete evidence. The primary objective of the current police investigation is to identify other individuals involved in creating and disseminating the fabricated content and to ascertain if it is part of a larger racket.

Currently, the police department is proceeding with its investigation based on the four registered cases and asserts that stringent measures will be taken against the guilty through the judicial process. All accusations against Amal Saini are based on complaints and police reports, and their final confirmation will be clear only after the judicial process.

The police are appealing to citizens to immediately report any instances of illegal activity or blackmail to assist in apprehending such criminals.
