Call for Humane Deployment of Disabled Staff
Farrukhabad, October 18, 2026 - Bharatiya Janata Party leader Ashok Kumar has submitted a memorandum to the District School Inspector (DIOS) in Farrukhabad, urging humane improvements in the work system and deployment of disabled outsourced employees. He specifically called for preventing disabled staff from engaging in physically demanding tasks in schools and imposing a complete ban on their deployment for gate duty.
Kumar emphasized that the repetitive act of opening and closing gates is extremely arduous for disabled employees. He also noted that delays in opening gates for senior officials can create problems for these employees. He highlighted a concerning practice where principals, upon receiving orders from the DIOS to summon staff from other schools for tasks like collecting board exam copies at Government Inter Colleges, often dispatch disabled employees.
Protecting Dignity and Ensuring Suitable Work
According to Ashok Kumar, such actions are disrespectful to the dignity of disabled employees. He has appealed to the office bearers of the Education Association to take cognizance of this sensitive matter. The leader demanded strict disciplinary action against any principal who violates these directives and deploys disabled employees for inappropriate tasks.
He further clarified that in the future, disabled outsourced employees from any school should not be sent to other schools for physical labor. Instead, these employees should be exclusively assigned to administrative tasks within offices to maintain their dignity. The DIOS has been urged to issue strict orders with immediate effect, providing clear directives to principals to ensure respect for the dignity of disabled individuals.
