A horrific road accident in the Balrampur district of Uttar Pradesh has led to the tragic deaths of two individuals. An uncontrolled tanker on the Balrampur-Tulsipur National Highway, on Wednesday morning, struck a Maruti Dzire car and a Bolero. The mother and son traveling in the car were pronounced dead at the scene.
One Critically Injured, Referred to Lucknow
Another woman sustained severe injuries in the accident and has been referred to Lucknow for treatment. The accident occurred near the Balaji Gas godown at Chungi Naka, within the Nagar Kotwali area, at approximately 7:30 AM.
Victims Identified, On Way for Dialysis
The deceased have been identified as 45-year-old Shyam Narayan and his 60-year-old mother, Kailashi Devi, residents of Lohikhar village in the Mahuli police station area of Sant Kabir Nagar district. According to police, the family was en route to Lucknow for dialysis treatment for Shyam Narayan, who was suffering from a kidney ailment, when the accident happened.
Wife Critically Injured, Undergoing Treatment
Shyam Narayan's 45-year-old wife, Vandana Chaudhary, was critically injured in the collision. After immediate first aid, she was transported to Lucknow Medical College in a precarious condition. Family members stated that Shyam Narayan was battling a severe kidney disease and was being taken to Lucknow for regular dialysis.
Eyewitnesses Recount the Horror of the Incident
Eyewitnesses and the driver of the Bolero, which was following behind, reported that the Dzire car, coming from Tulsipur, suddenly swerved uncontrollably and collided head-on with the oncoming tanker. The impact was so severe that the tanker lost control and also hit the Bolero from behind.
Tanker Driver Flees Scene, Police Investigation Underway
Immediately after the accident, the tanker driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. Local police have taken possession of both bodies and sent them for post-mortem examination. The police are actively searching for the absconding tanker driver.
Initial Investigation Points to Mill Employee
Preliminary investigations suggest that the deceased, Shyam Narayan, was an employee of the sugar mill located in Tulsipur. The administration has initiated further legal proceedings and a detailed investigation into the causes of the accident is underway.
